Vets Have Medical Options

More veterans are getting health care away from VA facilities. Area Officer for the Missouri Veterans Commission, Arthur Nott-Hopkins, says Community Care was designed to cut down on travel for vets.

He does caution veterans to avoid a common mistake.

The VA also has a health insurance program called CHAMPVA for widows of veterans, which includes a pharmacy benefit.

Nott-Hopkins suggests that military widows check with their health care provider to make sure they take CHAMPVA.
