Schuyler County Superintendent Discusses Conference Shakeup

The announced departures of Harrisburg and Fayette from the Lewis & Clark Conference have created some questions for the conference’s future. Both schools will remain in the conference for the upcoming school year before departing for a newly formed conference the following year. Schuyler County Superintendent Kyle Windy understands their decisions.

Both Harrisburg and Fayette look to maintain their eleven-man football programs by moving to the new conference. Schuyler County switched to eight-man football in 2020. Windy says they’re comfortable with their standing in the Lewis & Clark Conference.

Salisbury, Westran and Scotland County are the only remaining eleven-man football teams in the Lewis & Clark.
