Resurfacing Work Scheduled for Route 3 Through 3 Counties

Resurfacing work is expected to begin within two weeks on Route 3 in Randolph, Macon and Adair counties. The work will take place between Route 11 in Adair County and Route 24 at Clifton Hill. It will cover 52 miles and is expected to be completed by late June. Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with a ten-foot width restriction in place where crews are actively working. The 8.8-million dollar contract was awarded to Emery Sapp & Sons last year. It also includes resurfacing work on Route C from Route 36 in Macon County to Route JJ in Huntsville and seal coat work on Route 3 from the Route 24 east junction to Route 129 at Roanoke.
