Much of Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s daily coronavirus press conference focused on personal protective equipment and education. Parson fielded questions, and one asked if the governor agrees with President Donald Trump’s sentiment that government may loosen economic restrictions in the near future.

Governor Parson says he remains hopeful though.

A reporter asked State Department of Health and Senior Services Director Dr. Randall Williams if there is an adequate number of tests available in Missouri.

Williams notes more strict COVID-19 test qualifications after recent meetings with fellow medical experts.

Missouri Department of Public Safety Director Sandy Karsten reports on the state’s effort to obtain PPE.

The $17.3 million PPE order comes from Governor Parson’s $18 million special authorization. Karsten says deliveries are expected at the state warehouse over the next few weeks.
