Open Meetings To Discuss Possible Monroe City Library-LDRL Merger

The Monroe City Public Library and Little Dixie Regional Libraries are inviting the public to a series of open meetings in regard to a possible joining of the two library systems. The meetings will be held this Wednesday at the Monroe City Library at 10:00, 2:00, and 5:00.

Currently, Monroe City Public Library only serves the residents of Monroe City. Little Dixie Regional Libraries serves residents of Randolph and Monroe County (outside of the city limits). The joining of the two libraries would encompass all residents of Randolph and Monroe Counties if approved by both library boards. There would be no change in tax rate for any resident.

Patrons and the public are encouraged to attend to ask questions and share opinions on the possible joining of the two library systems. Library personnel will be at all three open meetings to take comments and answer questions.

If unable to attend the public meeting, residents are encouraged to call Little Dixie Regional Libraries (660-263-4426) or Monroe City Public Library at (573-735-2665) to share comments or ask questions about the possible merger.
