One Southeast Missouri County Downgraded In Drought Monitor Update

Just one notable change was noted in the weekly update to the U.S. Drought Monitor for Missouri.  The western and central thirds of Carter County in Southeast Missouri fell from abnormally dry to moderate drought.  This now results in 52.9 percent of Missouri being in some stage of drought, while 19.5 percent are in abnormal dryness.  Areas in extreme drought are unchanged at 5.1 percent, while severe drought continues to cover 15 percent of Missouri.
