MO Dept. Of Agriculture Updates Cattle, Swine Exhibitor Requirements

The Missouri Department of Agriculture has updated its requirements for cattle and swine competing at fairs and exhibitions around the state.  Department veterinarian Dr Steve Strubberg says the new rules that require a certificate of inspection within 30 days of a competition mirror those already in place for sheep and goats.

Animals must also have official identification, either an ear tag or registration tattoo with papers from the appropriate breed association.  Strubberg says with competitions spread across several months, communicating with your veterinarian and show superintendents is key to complying with the new requirements.

Additional details are available on the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s website.
