Missouri Spring Turkey Season Begins Monday

Missouri’s spring turkey season begins Monday and runs through May 5th. This follows last weekend’s youth season which resulted in more than 3,700 turkeys being harvested over a two-day period. Macon County Conservation Agent Jared Kelly says that could be a positive sign for hunters.

Both hunters and non-hunters are advised to wear hunter orange while in the woods this time of year. Kelly says there’s one safety reminder hunters need to keep in mind above all else.

Spring turkey season hours are a half-hour before sunrise to 1 pm on public land. Hunting on private lands lasts until sunset this year.
