Chevis Thompson Hired to Lead Lady Hounds Basketball

Moberly Area Community College has hired Chevis Thompson as the next head women’s basketball coach. Thompson coached at Southeastern Iowa last year, leading the Blackhawks to an 8-19 record, after five years at Shawnee Community College in Illinois. He says he was drawn here by the culture.

He expects to build the roster quickly.

He wants the team to be up-tempo.

He also coached previously at the University of the Southwest, Jarvis Christian, and was an assistant at Frank Phillips College. He played collegiately at Iowa Lakes Community College and Martin Methodist, which is now University of Tennessee Southern.
