Last week Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced he was deploying the National Guard to respond to the coronavirus outbreak. The National Guard’s primary role is to identify potential alternative care sites for coronavirus patients in the state. During Parson’s daily press briefing, Missouri National Guard General Levon Cumpton provided an update on their work so far.

Governor Parson has yet to issue a Stay at Home Order for the state. However, his previous social distancing order is set to expire in the coming days. Parson says they will re-evaluate this order tomorrow.

Parson adds that no matter the order, Missourians need to continue to practice social distancing.

Missouri currently has over 1,800 cases of coronavirus reported along with 19 deaths.
