During its October meeting, the Mexico School Board discussed a report on the district’s dropout rate. Superintendent Melissa Chastain says the latest rate is a bit troubling.
Mexico’s dropout rate has doubled from 20 in 2020 to 40 this year. Chastain says they’ve found a variety of reasons for why students have dropped out.
The Mexico School District is still in the process of locating some of their dropouts.
