Macon Schools Discuss Literacy Education Bill With Senator O’Laughlin

The Macon School Board had a special guest at its July meeting. Senator Cindy O’Laughlin visited to discuss her recently passed literacy education bill. Macon Superintendent Dr. Brent Hodge says they had a good discussion about her legislation.

With 30 provisions in the bill, Hodge says the board did raise some concerns to O’Laughlin.

The Macon School Board also discussed issues such as teacher pay, teacher retention, and open enrollment with O’Laughlin.
