The Macon Board of Education voted to move to a hybrid model of attendance for grades 6-through-12 and the Career Center, during a special meeting Tuesday evening. Superintendent Scott Jarvis came on KWIXland This Morning and said the action came after the school district was forced to switch the middle school grades to virtual learning after four students and three staff members tested positive for COVID-19….

Jarvis explained what phase two means for grades 6-through-12 and those attending the Career Center….

That will start Monday, September 14th for Macon High School and the Career Center. It will start for the district’s middle school students once the quarantine ends September 22nd. Jarvis said the hybrid plan gives them a better chance for in-seat instruction….

Macon superintendent Scott Jarvis said they did have one positive case in the elementary school, but they were able to isolate that to the one classroom. He said Macon elementary students will continue on their normal schedule.
