MACC Board Approves Budget

The MACC Board of Trustees approved the school’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year Monday night. College President Dr. Jeff Lashley says this was more routine than the past few budgets, which were impacted both by an influx in COVID money and unknown enrollment projections.

The college is projecting flat enrollment for the coming year, but Lashley says that may be optimistic.

Community colleges are seeing smaller high school graduating classes, a trend expected to continue through 2025, and many potential students are instead going straight into the workforce because of higher paying jobs.
