The Knox County School Board approved a bid to install new bleachers at the football field. Knox County Superintendent Andy Turgeon says the new bleachers will provide a modern update for the football facility.

The board approved a bid from WAMCO Athletics of Memphis for approximately 98 thousand dollars. Turgeon says the district hopes to move quickly to install the bleachers.

The current Knox County football grandstand has stood for the past 53 years. Knox County will also make the switch to eight-man football this fall.
