The Missouri House of Representatives passed a bill this week that requires schools to develop an emergency plan for heart emergencies. House Bill 1991 is sponsored by Representative Sherri Gallick of Belton. The plan would be in place for schools that don’t have an AED machine. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton was a longtime member of the Columbia Fire Department and says an AED is valuable.
Taylor says he’s worked to raise awareness for this bill.
House Bill 1991 advances to the Senate where two similar bills have been filed.
