The Kirksville City Council this month accepted a proposal from Allstate Tower Inc. of Henderson, Kentucky to demolish the tower. Miller says this project requires a specific company.

Miller adds the demolition of the water tower will be delicate work.

The bid for the demolition was for almost $163,000.
