The Keytesville School District announced Monday all staff must wear a mask in the building. All junior high and high school students are required to wear a mask in hallways during passing periods. Superintendent Josh Shoemaker adds all extracurricular activities are suspended due to the coronavirus.

Shoemaker cited increased COVID-19 cases in Chariton County, some of which were traced to junior high basketball games. The Keytesville superintendent outlines the next steps.

Keytesville canceled the rest of its junior high basketball season. Varsity basketball will continue practice in preparation for a potential return to extracurricular activities. Elementary lunch and specials classes will be held in elementary classrooms.
