Preparations continue for Hurdland’s 148th annual 4th of July Celebration. The chairman of the Celebration Committee, Tom Boatmen says this year’s event will feature several COVID-19 precautions.

In addition, anyone planning to attend the celebration who is feeling ill is encouraged to stay home. Boatmen says they are working out a way for people who can’t make it, to still experience this year’s celebration.

Activities get underway Friday at 5pm with the annual celebration meal. The parade will start the festivities Saturday.

A variety of activities will take place in the Hurdland City Park throughout the day and afternoon Saturday. The event concludes with a fireworks display at 10:15pm. Anyone planning to attend is advised to bring a lawn chair, as seating at the park will be limited.
