Food Plots Beneficial to Local Deer Hunters

While deer season in Missouri is still months away, the middle of July is an ideal time for hunters and landowners to plant food plots. Chariton County Conservation Agent Chris Chesher explains some of the benefits.

Food plots also keep deer close by to increase the chances of success for hunters. Some items to use in food plots include corn and buckwheat. Chesher says there are a couple of other options that are good to plant.

Other good options for food plots are winter wheat and clover.
