Flood Resiliency Act Approved by Missouri Legislature

At the beginning of the legislative session, Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton filed House Bill 1242, which would create the Flood Resiliency Act and Flood Resiliency Program. It was attached to Senate Bill 109, which made it through the legislature. McGaugh explains the purpose.

McGaugh wants the state to be proactive when it comes to dealing with flooding. The main focus of the Senate bill, sponsored by Senator Mike Bernskoetter of Jefferson City, was the distribution of mining revenue from national forest reserves.
