An early morning house fire killed a Salisbury woman and her grandson. According to the Missouri Division of Fire Safety at 1:33 Sunday morning, the Salisbury Fire Department received a call reporting the fire at 207 West Third Street in Salisbury. When firefighters arrived, 17-year-old Maxwell Springer was found deceased inside the home. 75-year-old Cheryl Springer was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

DFS reported that those were the only two people in the home at the time of the fire, which started in the living room. At this time, no suspicious activity is believed to be the cause of the fire, however the Salisbury Fire Department has requested assistance from DFS with the investigation.
