University of Missouri Extension and Lincoln University Extension will partner to offer a FAMACHA training workshop the morning of April 17th. The four-hour workshop on the Howard County Fairgrounds is primarily geared toward producers of small animal ruminants, according to MU Extension livestock specialist Heather Conrow.

Hands-on training will take place from 8 a.m. to noon that Saturday, including how to identify and count eggs found in a ruminant’s droppings.

Conrow adds that 4-H members are encouraged to attend, as they are eligible to receive hours toward their sheep and goat projects. The FAMACHA training is 35 dollars, and 20 dollars for each additional immediate family member. Registration is due Monday by calling the Howard County MU Extension office at 660-248-2272.
