Extension Encourages Frost-Seeding Legumes To Diversify Pastures

This week’s colder temperatures may present cattle ranchers an opportunity to introduce legumes to their pastures.  University of Missouri Extension is encouraging the frost-seeding technique to add red and white clover as well as lespedeza to areas where cattle graze.  State forage specialist Craig Roberts explains the benefits of the technique.

Roberts notes the nutritional benefits from adding the legumes.
