Deadline Set for Disaster Relief for Local Counties

A deadline of 11:59 Saturday night has been set for those seeking disaster relief from this summer’s severe storms that impacted Adair, Clark, Knox, Scotland and Shelby counties. The application process needs to go through the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). Eligible applicants are reimbursed for disaster-related costs for emergency response, debris removal and infrastructure improvements. The federal cost-share for all categories of public assistance is 75 percent. For more information visit the SEMA website at sema.dps.mo.gov

State and local agencies in Missouri have until Saturday to ask the federal government for reimbursements for money spent on recent natural disasters. Those include tornadoes, straight-line winds, severe thunderstorms, and floods that hit portions of Missouri between July 29th and August 14th. Nonprofit agencies and organizations are also eligible for reimbursements from FEMA. Requests should be submitted to the State Emergency Management Agency by 11:59 Saturday night.
