Columbia Police Find Human Remains on West Side of Town

Human remains were found in Columbia Tuesday night. Columbia police found the remains heavily decomposed near I-70 Drive and Stadium Blvd after an individual reported it at about 6:30pm Tuesday. Detectives and evidence technicians were called to secure and process the scene. The Boone County Medical Examiner was also contacted and the remains were transported to the medical examiner’s office for further analysis.
The case is considered open and has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division. The cause of death and identity has not yet been determined.
