Columbia Resident Killed in Accident on I-70

A Columbia resident is dead after the SUV he was a passenger in was hit from behind on I-70 around 10pm Thursday. Columbia Police say 67-year-old Lacy Jordan was in the back seat of the SUV, on eastbound I-70 near mile marker 130, when a truck driven by 52-year-old Michael Landis of Mexico had mechanical issues and hit the SUV, causing it to run into the median cable barrier. Jordan was not wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, 51-year-old Brandon Darris of Jefferson City, had minor injuries. Landis was not injured.
