Columbia Man Dead After Standoff With Police

A Columbia man is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot would after an armed standoff with Columbia Police. Around 8:20 Monday night, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3900 block of Clark Lane. They found 55-year-old Robert E. Lee standing in the doorway of the residence. He grabbed a gun and pointed it at officers. At that time, a woman inside was able to safely leave, and he barricaded himself inside the home. Shortly after 11, officers heard a single gunshot from inside the dwelling. After being unable to contact him, officers went in and found him dead.
