CMU Football Player Killed, Man in Custody

A Memphis, Tennessee man is held in the Howard County Jail following a shooting in Fayette yesterday (Thur.) that left a Central Methodist football player dead. 23-year-old Kundarrius Taylor was booked into the jail around 7:30 last night, about two hours after police arrived at the scene of the shooting. Torrance Evans, also from Memphis, was killed at an off-campus house. Evans was a senior offensive lineman. Central Methodist Director of Marketing and Communications Scott Queen explains how the university is moving forward in the wake of this tragedy.

Taylor turned himself into Fayette Police following the shooting. Classes at Central Methodist are canceled for today. A decision on CMU’s scheduled football game with Grand View for tomorrow will be made later today. The State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the shooting.
