The Audrain Community Hospital in Mexico and Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton are suspending all services effective at 5pm today (Fri.). A release from the hospitals states the suspension of services is in order to restructure their operations and become more financially viable. The hospital leadership will focus on identifying changes that will make the hospitals more efficient, sustainable, and better able to serve area patients. Some physicians offices will remain open during the restructure. The release says the goal is to reopen when the hospital can return to delivering high-quality, safe care.
