The Kirksville School Board held its monthly meeting earlier this week. Among the agenda items were bid approvals for their roofing project and their expanded solar panel project. Kirksville Superintendent Bob Webb shares some of the bid details for the roof project.

The project will involve work on multiple district buildings including the middle school and the vo-tech building. Meanwhile, the solar panel project expands on the current 200 solar panels already on top of the vo-tech building. The winning bid for that project came from Artisan Solar of Grandview, at a cost of 239 thousand dollars. However, Webb says the district will see that cost go down a little bit.

The expanded solar panel project will involve solar panels being placed on the roof of the Kirksville Primary School. Work on both projects is expected to take place over the summer and be completed before the start of next school year.
