Atlanta Softball Commemorating September 11th With Strikes and Stripes

The Atlanta softball team will host Schuyler County Monday in the inaugural Strikes and Stripes Softball game. This special event, organized by the Home Pioneer 4-H Club, will honor active duty, veterans and emergency personnel and commemorate the events of September 11th, 2001. Club President Bella Baker says several features of the game will help recognize those who serve.

Baker is a freshman on the Lady Hornets softball team. Admission is free for all active duty, veterans and emergency personnel. Baker says they will also receive a special meal.

All other fans can purchase the pork steak meal for ten dollars. Baker explains the importance of recognizing the events of 22 years ago.

This event was made possible through a Day of Service grant from the Missouri 4-H Foundation. First pitch is at 5.
