All Randolph County Sirens Sound Upon Warnings

When a tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service Saturday night for a section of northern Randolph County, all 22 emergency sirens in the county were activated. Emergency Management Director David Gaines said they don’t have the capability of selecting certain sirens at this point.

To explain why sirens were heard but not all county residents received a text alert on the tornado warning, Gaines explained the Civic Ready system is able to segregate those warnings.

Randolph County residents can sign-up for the free Civic Ready text alert system by going to the City of Moberly website. Gaines said they also have plans to add a 23rd siren east of Moberly along Route EE this year.
