Young Mexico Wrestling Team Making Solid Strides

The Mexico boy’s wrestling team features a large roster with 33 grapplers on this year’s roster. Head coach Gayle Adams says that depth is matched by their youth.

The Bulldogs’ lone state returner is Grant Van Horn, who placed fourth last season as a freshman. Van Horn has moved up a weight class to 138 pounds this season. Adams says Vanhorn has improved in several different areas.

Adams adds there are several other wrestlers who’ve performed well this season.

The Bulldogs are coming off one of their best performances of the season at the 49th Annual Tiger Classic Invitational at Cape Girardeau Central.

Mexico is next in action Wednesday at the Hillsboro Holiday Dual Tournament.
