Winkler Class 1 Coach Of The Year-Area Small Class All-State Selections
Cairo’s Brian Winkler is the MBCA Class 1 Girls Coach of the Year, after leading the Lady Bearcats to a state runner-up finish. He had two players voted All-State in juniors Macie Harman and Avery Brumley. The Meadville trio of senior Korrie Holcer, sophomore Madison Carjaval and senior Paige Carjaval also earned All-State honors. The Class 2 Girls All-State team includes junior Oakleigh Hill of Fayette and senior Claire Coy of La Plata. Area Class 3 Girls All-Staters are sophomore Braylin Brunkhorst and freshman Ryenn Gordon of Centralia, junior Callie McWilliams of South Shelby and senior Candra King of Palmyra.
On the boys side, the Class 1 All-State team includes senior Asher Buggs-Tipton and junior Xander Salas of Green City, senior Derek Rockett of Higbee and senior Layne Brandes of Prairie Home/Bunceton. Area Class 2 Boys All-Staters include senior Cooper Francis of Salisbury, senior Jordan Fuemmeler of Glasgow, junior Trace Combs of Harrisburg and senior Nikos Connaway of Van-Far.
