Westran Leads Class 1 State Golf Tournament, Tolton Student Leads Class 3 After Day One
The Westran Hornets are in the drivers seat for the MSHSAA Class 1 state golf title after day one of the state championships. The Hornets shot a 321 at Freemont Hills Country Club in Nixa. Caleb Nagel is currently third, teammate Logan Bain is tied for fifth, Christian Seiders is tied for 14th, and Colin Brandow is tied for 33rd. Salisbury’s Cooper Francis and South Shelby’s Casen Glover are both in medalist contention after finishing day one tied in tenth. In Class 2, state champion Palmyra shot a 352. The Panthers are paced by Jacob Webster’s sixth place. Laydin Lochman is currently eighth, Brady Shively is tied for 38th, and Elijah Edwards is tied for 40th. Current Class 2 medalists include Hallsville’s Logan Cox, who is tied for third, Monroe City’s Logan Buhlig who is tied for sixth, and Centralia’s Lawrence Bennett, who is currently 11th. In Class 3, Father Tolton’s Christian Rischer is at the top of the leaderboard after shooting one-under par at the Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington. His teammate Chase Knorr and Kirksville’s John Boyer are currently tied for fourth. You can view the full area day one results below:
