Washington Leads Hounds to 14th Straight Win

Tedric Washington scored 26 of his game-high 29 points in the first half to lead the 5th-ranked Moberly Greyhounds to 65-56 win over 21st-ranked Southeastern of Iowa Wednesday night.

The Greyhounds got the lead out to as many as 16 in the first half, but the Blackhawks cut it to nine by halftime, and got as close as one in the second half. Brandon Hall, Jaheim Tanksley, and RaeShaun Ambris each had ten, giving the Greyhounds a 14th consecutive win. Coach Pat Smith said he’s proud of this group.

Moberly is now 24-3. Southeastern falls to 19-8.

The women cruised to a 13th straight win, 86-42 win at Jefferson. Bukky Akinsola had 19 and Ahmya Boyce had 16. The 15th-ranked Lady Hounds are 24-2, and 11-1 in Region 16. Jefferson falls to 6-21, and 1-11. Both Moberly teams host State Fair Saturday night.
