Vandalia Pedestrian Killed On Route 61

A Vandalia pedestrian was killed on Route 61 just south of Palmyra Friday night at 9:20. The State Highway Patrol reports a vehicle driven by a 16-year old from Hannibal was southbound on U.S. 61 when 30-year old Austin Taylor of Vandalia ran into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
