Arbuckle Tosses Two-Hitter in La Plata Victory

Logan Arbuckle pitched a complete game two-hitter in La Plata’s 6-0 victory over Bevier Wednesday night. Arbuckle fanned 10 Wildcat hitters while walking just two. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs got two runs in the first inning without the benefit of a hit against Bevier ace Blake Williams. After a groundout by Paxtyn Jones brought in Auston Lawrence to make it 3-0 in the second inning, Brayden Lewis provided the big hit for the Bulldogs.

Colin Schowe with the call on KTCM 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com. The Bulldogs added one more run in the frame and Arbuckle did the rest on the mound to secure the victory. Coach Matt Safley discussed the key to jumping on Williams early.

The Bulldogs played error-free defense and turned two double plays behind Arbuckle. Safley said it was the perfect recipe for a shutout.

La Plata outhit Bevier 4-2. The Wildcats were hurt by six errors in the game. Coach Jed Cook said they weren’t able to give the same defensive support for their pitchers.

Williams went five innings and allowed 6 runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Cook analyzed his starter’s performance.

Bevier drops to 4-5 while La Plata improves to 6-8.
