Two Seriously Injured in Howard County Accident

Four people were injured, two seriously, in a two-vehicle accident on Route 5 in Howard County around 4:20 Tuesday afternoon. The State Highway Patrol says it happened just south of County Road 450 when a southbound car driven by 33-year old Shelby Thompson of Columbia crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle driven by 28-year old Kristopher Elliott of Fayette. Elliott was ejected when his car traveled off the road and overturned. Elliott and a passenger, 24-year old Hayley McCutcheon of Fayette, had serious injuries. Another passenger, 20-year old Michael Walters of Fayette sustained moderate injuries. All three were taken to Columbia. Thompson had minor injuries, and refused treatment. She was booked for DWI.
