Truman Women Beat Rockhurst in OT-12th Straight for the Bulldog Men

The Truman women worked overtime coming off a 19-day layoff, while the men ran their winning streak to 12, in a sweep of Rockhurst Thursday night at Pershing Arena.

Ellie Weltha tied the game at the end of regulation and then scored nine of her 18 points in the extra session leading the Bulldog women to a 76-69 victory over Rockhurst…..

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Weltha also grabbed 14 rebounds for her 6th double-double of the season. Hannah Belanger scored 25 points, including three free throws in overtime. Coach Theo Dean said his team was aggressive late….

Belanger has scored at least 20 points in five of the last six games. Katey Klucking added 14. The Bulldogs improve to 13-3, but Drury was able to leap them into first place in the GLVC Point Rating System rankings heading into the final game of the regular season. The Rockhurst women drop to 8-11.

Masen Miller score 23 points to lead the 3rd ranked Truman men to a 81-76 win over the Hawks….

The Bulldogs increased the lead to as many as 10, only to have Rockhurst close to within one with 11 seconds left. Miller and Cade McKnight made four free throws in the finals seconds to close the door on the Hawks. After scoring just 24 points in the first half, Jeff Horner’s squad put up 57 over the second 20 minutes….

Dylan Peeters recorded his ninth double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Elijah Hazekamp added 13 and Turner Scott had nine assists to go with his 11 points. The Bulldogs improve to 17-1. Rockhurst drops to 9-12.

Both Truman teams will host Southwest Baptist to wrap up the regular season on Saturday. We will have the game on KRES starting at 12:45.
