Truman Swept At UMSL

Down, 60-57, Claire Rake was fouled on a three-point shot to tie with 1.2 on the clock, but converted just one free throw. After an UMSL free throw, the Bulldogs had point-nine on the clock. Ainsley Tolson hit all 11 free throws she attempted and finished with 13 points. Rake had 12 and Weltha scored 11 pushing her over 1,400 points for her career. She also had 13 rebounds. The Bulldogs drop to 3-9. UMSL got 27 points from Jalysa Stokes to improve to 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the GLVC.

The UMSL men used a pair of ten-point runs late in the first half to beat Truman 81-67. Those bursts gave the Tritons a 17-point lead at intermission. The Bulldogs could only get as close as eight in the second half. Coach Jeff Horner pointed to one area of concern….

Landon Eiland led Truman with 13, and Casen Lawrence and Matt Haefner both added a dozen. The Bulldogs drop to 4-8 and 1-3 in the GLVC. The Tritons remain in second place in the conference at 5-1 and get back to the .500 mark at 7-7.
