TRUMAN COMPLETES UNDEFEATED HOME SLATE WITH SENIOR DAY TRIUMPH

Brad Boyer on the call of Salima’s 22-yard touchdown for a 14-7 Bulldogs lead one minute into the second quarter. The senior’s scamper was the first of five unanswered Truman touchdowns. Salima proceeded to rush for 132 yards and three scores. The Bulldogs rushed for 304 yards as a team, and senior Jaden Barr completed eight of 10 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown. Truman head coach Gregg Nesbitt reacted to the dominant performance.
Nesbitt’s senior quarterback Barr also rushed for 63 yards and a score to move into second on Truman’s all-time total offense list. Nesbitt complimented the offensive line.
Offensive lineman Jacob Lewis of Centralia was one of 18 seniors honored pregame. Truman held McKendree to 21 rushing yards on 21 attempts. The Bulldogs finished 5-0 at home, which marks Truman’s first undefeated home slate since 1994.
Nesbitt’s Bulldogs are 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the GLVC ahead of Truman’s visit to Indianapolis. Next week’s Truman Tailgate starts at 4:10pm. McKendree sits 4-5 and 2-3 in conference. Hear Truman head coach Gregg Nesbitt’s full postgame interview below.
