Tomato Festival Returns To Mizzou’s Jefferson Farm Thursday
For the first time since 2019, the University of Missouri will host their open house dedicated to tomatoes. The Missouri Tomato Festival will take place Thursday afternoon at the university’s Jefferson Farm outside Columbia. Organizer Tim Reinbott says the varieties of tomatoes and peppers the public can taste-test were all grown on site.
Reinbott adds that kids will have their own taste-testing opportunity.
Tim Reinbott of the University of Missouri’s Jefferson Farm adds that a local vendor will sell heirloom tomatoes while area master gardeners will have perennials for sale from the farm’s butterfly garden. The Missouri Tomato Festival will run Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Center on East New Haven Road. There is no charge to attend.
