Three Hurt in Marion County Accident

A Wayland woman was seriously injured, and two teens from there were also hurt, when their SUV hit the back of a tractor on Highway 36 in Marion County around 9 Wednesday morning. The State Highway Patrol says the SUV, driven by 59-year-old Letha Soper, went off the right side of the westbound lanes and overturned, about a mile west of Route DD. She was taken to Monroe City, then flown to Columbia. Two girls, ages 17 and 14, were taken to Hannibal with moderate and minor injuries. The operator of the tractor, 28-year-old Christopher Taylor of Palmyra, was not hurt.
