South Shelby Baseball Visits Bevier

The South Shelby Cardinals will continue a busy week Wednesday night when they visit Bevier for a non-conference matchup. The Cardinals opened the week with a pair of Clarence Cannon Conference games. They lost 3-2 to Macon on Monday and beat Highland 12-2 last night. South Shelby coach Jacob Rich explains what he’s looking for from his team amidst a busy schedule.

The Cardinals went 13-6 last season in Rich’s first year in charge. They come into Wednesday’s contest against Bevier with an overall record of 5-4 and a 4-1 mark in the CCC. Rich discusses his team’s approach to tonight’s game.

Bevier will come into the contest far more rested, having last played Friday, where they fell 15-0 to Salisbury. The Wildcats are 3-5 on the season, but have lost their last three games by a combined score of 46-1. Their wins have come against Bucklin Macon County, Meadville, and Glasgow. South Shelby won the most recent meeting against Bevier by a score of 12-0 in 2019.
