Both east and westbound lanes on Interstate 70 between Roachport and Boonville were closed for a period of time today (Sat) due to low visibility caused by a brush fire. According to Corporal Kyle Green of the Missouri Highway Patrol, the fire started in the Wooldrige area and spread quickly due to wind, terrain, and dry grass conditions. This caused the smoke to spread at that point that the highway patrol determined the safety course action was to close down this section of highway and reroute traffic around the smoke. Traffic resumed once visibility was determined to be safe.
