Sander Returning to Softball to Lead Young Westran Team

After taking a five year break from coaching softball, Chris Sander returns as Westran Lady Hornets head coach this season. Sander explains what led him back to coaching softball.

Sander previously coached the Lady Hornets from 2013 to 2017 and led them to a state runner-up finish in 2013. This year’s Westran squad features 13 underclassmen. Sander says having a younger roster will be a major factor this season.

Sander highlights a few upperclassmen he expects to lead the team.

Sander details the goals the Lady Hornets have for this season.

Westran finished 14-12 last season. Sander replaces Mark Harvey, who accepted the superintendent role at Westran in April.
