Salisbury will faceoff with Scotland County in a late season Lewis & Clark Conference matchup Monday, in Salisbury.

The girls game will be the deciding factor in who wins the Lewis & Clark Conference as both Salisbury and Scotland County come into the contest with unbeaten conference records. The Lady Panthers are currently receiving votes in the Class 2 State Poll. Salisbury coach Wade Billington says his team will be challenged by Scotland County’s stout defense.

The Lady Tigers’ defense has allowed only one opponent to score over 50 points this season, which happened in a 53-45 loss to Clark County on December 7th. Clark County has given Scotland County two of their three losses this season. However the Lady Tigers beat Clark County in their most recent meeting 42-39.

The boys game will feature two youthful teams matching up against each other. Both Salisbury and Scotland County feature just one senior on their roster. The Panthers come in to the contest with a 4-1 record in conference play and are 13-8 overall. Salisbury boys coach Kenny Wyatt says he likes the way his young team has developed this season.

Meanwhile, Scotland County has struggled with consistency this season as they sport a 6-15 record for the season. The Tigers had a streak of four wins in five games, but have since followed it up with four straight losses heading into tonight’s matchup with the Panthers.

Coverage of Monday’s doubleheader will begin at 5:50 on KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Colin Schowe will have the play-by-play.
