Salisbury Faces Wellsville in Class 2 Quarterfinals

The Salisbury Panthers travel to Montgomery County to play Wellsville in the Class 2 state quarterfinals. The Panthers are back in the quarterfinals for the first time since 2015 after defeating Lincoln 54-53 Tuesday night in sectionals. Coach Kenny Wyatt believes the state quarterfinal round is the most pressure packed game of a high school season.

Wyatt says slowing Wellsville down starts with containing four-year starter Clayton Ebers.

19-6 Wellsville beat Cairo 57-56 with a buzzer beating shot by Ebers. Tigers coach Steve Lasman says Wellsville’s chances to punch a Show-Me-Showdown ticket comes down to one key.

The winner will face the Lakeland vs. North Andrew winner in the semifinals next week in Springfield. Pregame coverage on 99.9 The Captain and centralmoinfo.com begins at 5:45, tipoff at 6pm. Scott has the call.
